We did some Geography lessons in Computers this week.
Infants classes used www.askaboutireland.ie to play games based around their play spaces using simple maps and directions.
1st -3rd classes used Google Maps to find their school and home address. In using street and Earth view, they developed a sense of place and space and were able to visualise the areas we live in and find routes to school and play spaces.
4th -6th classes had great fun playing Geoguesser. This is a game which involves using Google Maps to explore places around the world. You are dropped in a country and have to figure out where you are. We looked for clues like the weather, road signs, car registrations and the people and houses in the photos.
All of these Games can be found in the Geography section of our Learning Zone on the Main school website.

This month we are linking our computer class with SESE (Social, Environmental and Scientific Education).
BBC Science clips and KS2 Bitesize science provide online science experiments and facts about a variety of science topics such as:
We are having great fun using our science skills of predicting, questioning, investigating and measuring the results of our virtual experiments. Click on the websites below to do some science!
